Three Flexible Drum Filling Modes
PACK’R drum filling systems are designed with maximum flexibility in mind. Whether you are handling hazardous chemicals, foaming detergents, or viscous concentrates, our machines offer three adaptable filling modes to ensure safe, efficient, and precise packaging every time.
Below-the-Bung Filling
This mode quickly fills the container just below the bung opening. It is ideal for standard, non-foaming products and is especially useful where space is limited, allowing for shorter filling lances and quick changeovers. It also reduces cleaning requirements for increased efficiency.
Sub-Surface Filling
For foaming or hazardous liquids, subsurface filling ensures a smooth, controlled process. The lance starts at the bottom of the container and rises with the product level. This technique minimizes splashing, suppresses foam formation, and significantly reduces vapor emissions, lowering the risk of contamination in hazardous applications, making it ideal for corrosive, flammable, or toxic materials.
Above-Product-Level Filling
Perfect for viscous or lightly foaming liquids, this method positions the filling lance just above the liquid surface. As the product level rises, the lance moves upward, helping prevent clogging or buildup on the lance. It also limits air intake, protecting product quality from oxidation.
